Dog agility is competitive sport for dogs in which a handler directs a dog through an obstacle course. The obstacle course is made up of jumps, tunnels, and walkways. In a race around the obstacle course you are measured for both time and accuracy in a certain order around the course. Dogs run off leash with no food as incentives, also the handler can not touch its dog or any of the obstacles.
If you decide that Agility is a suitable activity for you and your dog, your will need to get training for you and your dog.
Each dog and handler team gets one opportunity together to attempt to complete a course successfully. The dog begins behind a starting line and, when instructed by his handler, proceeds around the course. The handler typically runs near the dog, directing the dog with spoken commands and with body language. The quickest time around the course with no faults or the least faults will determine your finishing position.
